Malahat is the loudest and heaviest rock band to recently emerge out of Canada. A blast from the past with modern tastes, these young men infuse their influences from the 1930's to today. A Slamming and unforgettable sound, with a grungy and groovy edge, morphs through a wave of deep southern Blues in a Psychedelic fusion. With powerful hybrid rock vocals, progressive and explosive drumming, 70's grooving bass, and the dirtiest slide guitar you will ever hear, Malahat will blow you away with their stage show, diversity and their original sound of pure face melting Rock n Roll.
Not your grandpa's British Brass Band! The Brass is a non-auditioned community brass and woodwind ensemble right here in Victoria, playing original arrangements of whatever the heck they want. David Bowie, The Talking Heads, Vulfpeck, Deerhoof, LCD Soundsystem, Avalanches, A Tribe Called Quest... the list goes on. No genre is off limits to director and arranger Julia Knight. "If it's got a hook, I wanna hear these horns hit it." The Brass features a rotating cast of local talent and you never know how many of them will cram on to the stage. Expect a show reminiscent of that one time at bandcamp when JAY Z showed up.

After many years of collaborations, the duo behind Distant Grand have solidified their style, resulting in the discovery of the sound that captures the essence of their self-made genre, Sexy Sad.
