Commercial Building Rates
The following rates will be applied to commercial presenters who do not fall under the non-profit or education categories.
Performance Day (six hour time block):
Full House (1416) - $2000.00 vs. 10% of box office sales net of box office service charges and GST-Capped at $7000.00
Technical/Rehearsal Times:
Performance Day (beyond the six hour time block) - $170.00 per hour
Non Performance Day - $1140.00 vs. $170.00 per hour, which ever is greater
Non-Profit Building Rates
The following rates will be applied to local non-profit organizations that supply the Royal & McPherson Theatres Society with a copy of the their Certificate of Incorporation under the BC society Act. Organizations must be located within the geographic perimeters of the Capital Regional District.
Performance Day (six hour time block):
Full House (1416 seats) - $1640.00
Technical/Rehearsal Times:
Performance Day (beyond the six hour time block) - $88.00 per hour
Non Performance Day - $685.00 vs. $88.00 per hour, which ever is greater
Education Building Rates
The Education rate structure is defined as any registered publicly or privately operated educational organization that operates within the geographic perimeters of the Capital Regional District. This category allows for a full day rate on performance days up to a sixteen hour working period.
Performance Day:
Full House (1416 seats) - $1385.00 flat
Technical/Rehearsal Times:
Non Performance Day - $685.00
Production Overtime Hours (beyond the eight hour time block): $88.00 per hour
McPherson Playhouse

Non Performance Day - $960.00 vs. $96.00 per hour, whichever is greater

Rental Information
LABOUR RATES
The Licensee will pay all labour charges. Staff requirements will be determined and scheduled by the Royal & McPherson Theatres Society. Labour will be charged as per the rates identified in the licensee agreement. Minimum four hour call.
Stage Crew
Crew Chief/Department Head: $48.45 per hour
Assistant Sound and Wardrobe: $36.05 per hour
Operator: $35.05 per hour
Loader: $32.00 per hour
Grip: $30.65 per hour
Front of House Staff
Manager/Supervisor: $45.90 per hour
Usher: $20.85 per hour
Merchandiser: $20.85 per hour
BOX OFFICE CHARGES
A transaction service charge will be added to the face price of each ticket. This charge covers the cost of the Building Improvement Fund, ticket stock, and ticket handling. This service charge is based on the highest adult ticket price. The transaction service charge will be applied as follows:
- Tickets valued at $21.75 and less: $3.00 will be added to the base price of the ticket.
- Tickets valued at $22.00 to $49.75: $7.00 will be added to the base price of the ticket.
- Tickets valued at $50.00 to $99.75: $7.50 will be added to the base price of the ticket.
- Tickets valued at $100.00 and more: $8.50 will be added to the base price of the ticket.
The RMTS Box Office charges the following fees to the customer based on how they are purchasing:
Phone order - $1.50 per ticket
Mail order - $2.50 per order
Web order - $3.00 per order
The RMTS offers the following optional services:

E-Blast to our RMTS OnStage Subscribers. The cost for this is $0.05 per e-mail to a maximum of $150.00. The RMTS will create the e-blast and send it out to our OnStage members who have opted-in to receive presale or special promotions from the RMTS.

Seating Holds
- The RMTS holds 14 house seats, plus 14 seats in reserve
- Use of the full orchestra pit requires the removal of 45 seats (main floor rows AA & BB)
- Use of a rental or touring sound system normally requires 14 holds near the stage for obstructed sightlines, and 20 seats (back of main floor, centre) for production equipment
- Additional holds must be arranged for video camera positions, etc.
- Wheelchair areas (back of the main floor, left and right) are not available for production equipment.

- Proscenium Theatre, conventional seating, four aisles
- One balcony, six loges at the front of the balcony, two side boxes at balcony level
- Wheelchair seating at the back of the main floor only, left and right sections
Box Office
Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from two hours prior to any performance until one half hour after show time. Tickets for the Royal Theatre are also sold at the McPherson Playhouse box office.
Front of House Staff
Box office attendants, ushers, ticket takers, concessionaires, bartenders and coat check attendants are provided. Merchandise sellers and security personnel are available by arrangement.

Sightline Impediments
A total of 15 balcony seats and 12 of the box seats are sold as "restricted view" for all events. Sightlines may also be affected by the placement of touring or rental P.A. speakers or other equipment. Contact the theatre for details, and to arrange for additional sightline holds.
Production Position
Located at the rear of the main floor, an area 5’ x 10’ (1.5 x 3m) is available for touring and rental equipment by the removal of temporary seating. Alternatively, gear may be set up over fixed seating in this area, using a production table provided by the venue. Contact the theatre well in advance if any production space may be required as ticketing will be affected.
Box Office
Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from two hours prior to any performance until one half hour after show time. Tickets for the McPherson Playhouse are also sold at the Royal Theatre Box Office.
