Christian Kluxen, conductor
Paul Rissmann, animateur
Tchaikovsky, Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique”
Naked Classics animateur Paul Rissmann returns to the VS to “undress” Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique.” Rissmann introduces this haunting score, unlocking its many secrets and making it accessible to the audience through imagery, musical excerpts with the orchestra live on stage and much more. Following the intermission, Maestro Kluxen leads us through a complete performance of the symphony.
The policies of the Victoria Symphony, the Royal Theatre and the University of Victoria state that every person must have a ticket in order to be admitted to a performance. Children five years and older are welcome at all regular Victoria Symphony concerts. There are no age restrictions at Concerts for Kids, but all patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
