We are in extraordinary times as the world grapples with the effects of the COVID-19 virus. Our highest priority is the health and welfare of our patrons, musicians, conductors, artists, staff and volunteers. And so, it is with regret that we announce that the Victoria Symphony will be cancelling the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
This is a heartbreaking decision for music lovers, our musicians and artists, our community and our entire organization. At this time we are committed to returning to performances when it is deemed safe to do so by the British Columbia Government and the top Health officials in British Columbia.
We are grateful to be able to do our part for social distancing to try and slow the spread of COVID-19, however, these measures are devastating to our musicians and to our financial position. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the patronage and support of our community to keep our organization financially viable. Therefore, under these most unusual circumstances, we would like to ask you to consider donating your tickets to the concerts that have been disrupted by these unforeseen circumstances.
If you purchased your tickets through the Victoria Symphony please contact their box office at 250.385.6515 or email@example.com for assistance. If you purchased your ticket through the Royal Theatre or McPherson Box Office please contact the McPherson Box Office by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The email will be monitored Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
The policies of the Victoria Symphony, the Royal Theatre and the University of Victoria state that every person must have a ticket in order to be admitted to a performance. Children five years and older are welcome at all regular Victoria Symphony concerts. There are no age restrictions at Concerts for Kids, but all patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Babes-in-arms at Concerts for Kids will be issued a complimentary seat next to their parent or guardian.
